On a bright sunny afternoon ideal for rugby Trafford MV travelled to League leaders Wilmslow with an uphill task on their hands. Wilmslow with only a single defeat blotting their copy book to date were firm favourites as Trafford with only a single win this season continued their fight for survival at this level.

The writing was on the wall from early doors as the home side looked confident with ball in hand and a strong pack ensured that ball was there to be played with. Despite Trafford's efforts in defence the home side were proving too strong and capable as they ran up a comfortable lead during the first half, taking a healthy 38-0 lead into the half time break.

Trafford could quite easily have crumbled but the second half showed some grit and determination both in attack and defence. Wilmslow continued with their threat but Trafford did manage to get onto the scoreboard with 2 tries of their own, the first came from a good lineout maul which saw Jamie Kingdon hit a good running line to break the defence and put Luke O'Shea out wide to touch down. Trafford followed up in similar fashion when lineout ball again saw the pack drive on and player/coach Aaron Booth finding a hole in the home defence from stand off, the conversion was added by Luke O'Shea.

Wilmslow showed they were the better side but Trafford MV will keep fighting to the end. Good spirit was shown in the 67-12 defeat especially from TMV's player of the match Chris Ward who worked hard to stem the flow through dogged defence throughout the game.

This coming weekend Trafford have another tough game as 2nd placed Warrington visit MacPherson Park on the back of their 66-7 home win over Wigan last weekend.
