As games across the North West were called off due to frozen pitches Trafford MV were able to play as Didsbury switched venue to a 4G all weather pitch - it might have been better for TMV for the game to be cancelled. Didsbury started the game 2nd in ADM League 1 and bottom places TMV knew they were in for a long afternoon from the opening whistle.
The excellent playing surface suited the good running back line of the home team and they made the most of it. Tries came frequently for Didsbury and it was a 'backs to the wall' defensive display from the under dogs. Trafford are putting faith in their youth this season with hope that the 'tough love' will see these players learn from their experience to benefit in the long term.
The final score 75 - 12 gave little to TMV who picked up tries from No. 8 Micah Dyos and Fly Half Aaron Booth who also converted his own try. The first half had been fairly competitive with only 2 tries separating the teams at half time but the second half saw the score ramp up for the home team.
Trafford MV must now look ahead to a run of 3 home games against Broughton Park, New Brighton and Eccles which could determine their fate or fortune for this season.
Trafford MV are always looking to strengthen their squad with the addition of local amateur rugby talent - contact
