Trafford MV are looking for a loud and proud touchline this Saturday as our 1st XV play their final home game of the season after securing the League winners title and promotion from COUNTIES 2 ADM LANCASHIRE & CHESHIRE OF NORTHERN DIVISION.
The 1st XV are looking forward to this opportunity to show their home support the fruits of two seasons hard work and commitment.
Head Coach Brian Collier has tweaked his selection this weekend as we welcome Fleetwood to MacPherson Park for a 3.00pm kick off following the Clubs Presidents Lunch in the Clubhouse.
Trafford take to the field with a strong front row with last weekend POTM Connor Monaghan propping alongside the streamlined Jack Gobbett with try scoring machine Craig Collier at hooker.
In the second row we have a very mobile pairing with this seasons newcomer Tyler Stevens teaming up with powerhouse Kieran Edgar switching from No 8.
The back row welcomes back captain Danny Burke, having shaken off a knee injury that kept him side-lined for a number of weeks, at No 8. Either side of him at flanker are the committed Sam Wilson and the strong tackling Lewis Kingdon.
Last weekend match winner Pat Eccles hold down the scrum half position while outside him at stand off we see Luke O'Shea returning after an excellent game last week at full back.
In the centres Callum Yates moves into midfield from stand off to link up with the ever improving Leon Passley.
The strong running Jamie Kingdon slides out onto the wing looking to use his straight running to best effect on the other wing Jordan Rigg will be looking for space to use his electric pace.
Completing the starting XV at full back we have another newcomer this season Eanna Glynn who's handling and commitment to bringing pace into the back line.
The selected XV have strong support from the bench where influential Micah Dyos and young and upcoming Andrew Beales add strength and pace to the forwards plus Jamie Parker adding his pace and incisive running to the back line.
The support of all Club members is called for as the 1st XV close off their home games this season and we would like to see a packed touchline celebrating the teams success at our own Club.
On Thursday April 4th we have our annual Rugby General Meeting - see separate event post - please try to attend.
