The whole Club congratulates our girls that represented Lancashire and Cheshire over the weekend - they gave a great representation of the Club on the county circuit - well done to all.

It was a massive weekend for the club as 9 of our U16 Girl players stepped out to represent both the Lancashire and Cheshire county rugby teams.

It was a hard-fought battle on the pitch across two games, with Lancashire taking the wins:

• Game 1: Lancashire 22 – 3 Cheshire
• Game 2: Lancashire 43 – 5 Cheshire

Regardless of the jersey they wore, the TMV girls did us proud. They showed exactly what we’re about; running hard with the ball, putting in the shifts, and crossing the line for some fantastic tries!

If you know a young girl local to Trafford and it's surrounds that is interested in playing rugby or looking to have a change of direction in their sporting aspirations we would ask you to point them the way of Trafford MV Womens RFCC.

A friendly group of girls across the age groups with a team of dedicated coaches looking after them and the results are starting to show.

Contact wilfdooley@virginmedia and your enquiry will be directed to the relevant coaching team.

Dates for the Diary

Saturday February 14th - Trafford MV 1st XV vs Tarleton 1st XV - KO 2.15PM - Please come down and support our Club XV's.

Saturday February 14th - IRELAND will play host to ITALY (ko 2.10pm) in the early kick off in round 2 of the Six Nations and they will be looking for an emphatic response following their 36-14 defeat in Paris. Italy will be bouyant however following a good 18-15 win over Scotland in a very wet Rome.

Later in the afternoon The Calcutta Cup will be at stake as Scotland welcome England to Murrayfield (ko 2.10pm). SCOTLAND will surely show more passion and hunger than they did against Italy and it will be needed to keep the Auld Enemy at bay as ENGLAND looked very confident in beating Wales by a healthy 48-7 last weekend.

Sunday February 15th - The Clubhouse will open once again to show the WALES vs FRANCE game kicking off at 3.10pm in Cardiff. France will be firm favourites in the wake of their comprehensive beating of Ireland who need to quickly find their stride and get new players bedded into positions.

Friday February 27th - The Fraudsters - U15's Rugby Fundraiser - Tickets now available from Steve Newton on 07725 720338 Adult £10 / Child £5 / Family £25

We are now stocking a range of bottled ales as an option to the draught ales we have on the bar - we hope you will try these and make any request for ways we can improve.
