Upcoming Changes to Direct Debit Payments
FSI has informed us of an important update affecting members who currently have Direct Debit payments scheduled over the coming months, including those with ongoing recurring payments. This impacts all M&J parents who have DD mandates set up for monthly payment collection on GMS.
In summary all M&J membership scheme payments are moving from Direct Debit to scheduled card payments. To support a smooth transition, FSI will contact all affected members directly. Each member will receive a secure link inviting them to update their GMS payment method for any existing scheduled and future payments, moving from DD to payment by card tokenisation.
What Members Need to Know
- Payment by DD mandate will no longer be supported
- Existing payment schedules (in July & Aug) will continue as normal.
- Affected members will simply need to update the payment method used for future payments (ie new membership schemes starting from 1 Sep).
Why This Update Is Being Made
This change will allow both one‑off and scheduled card payments to be settled daily into the club’s balance account supported by the Adyen payments platform. This provides:
- A modern method of collercting payments similar to how you pay for subscriptions like Amazon or Netflx
- A clearer and more consistent view of incoming payments
- Faster settlement
- A simplified financial process for the club
When Will Members Be Contacted
FSI expects to begin contacting affected members by email from Monday, 15 June.
FSI will continue to monitor the transition and share further updates if needed. Members with questions after receiving their secure link are welcome to contact the club for support.
What You Need to do Next
When you receive an email from FSI inviting you to provide your payment card details please do not ignore this. The email is an important part of the transition from GMS payment by DD mandate to card tokenisation ahead of the 2-step process that will soon be starting again for 1) re-registration of your your age grade player and 2) buying your M&J membership for the new 2026/27 season.
Any questions please do not heisitate to contact us. Thanks, Andrew & Karen Lord (on behalf of Trafford MV)
