Trafford MV Under-13s produced a superb display of skill, determination, and resilience to be crowned Lancashire Cup champions on Sunday, 26th April, in Leigh.

On a glorious day, perfectly hosted by Leigh, Trafford MV rose to the occasion with three outstanding performances.

Late drama sealed their opening win as MV were pushed all the way in their opener against Liverpool Collegiate, trailing by a try at the break after a fiercely contested first half. But the response was outstanding, showing grit and composure, MV fought back, with tries from Nick Culter, Oliver Labiak, and Alex O’Sullivan including a dramatic last-minute score to snatch a thrilling 15–10 victory.

Martin Masterclass Breaks Waterloo - The second clash against Waterloo was a defensive battle early on with neither side able to break the deadlock before the half-time interval. Step forward Patrick Martin. Introduced in the second half, Martin delivered a devastating performance, running in four tries two from slick team play and two from sheer individual brilliance as MV powered to a dominant 4–0 win.

Final Glory Against Leigh - Facing hosts Leigh in the final and determined to overturn previous defeats Trafford MV produced their best rugby of the day. A lightning fast start saw Finlay Roberts and Patrick Martin cross for early tries, putting MV firmly in control. Leigh responded with a score of their own, but MV refused to let momentum slip. Relentless forward pressure paved the way for Oliver Shaw to extend the lead before Patrick capped a remarkable day, collecting a clearance kick and racing through to score his sixth try of the tournament. The final whistle confirmed a commanding 20–5 victory and sparked scenes of celebration.

Power Up Front Lays the Foundation -  While the tries grabbed the headlines, they were built on the relentless work of the Trafford MV forward pack, whose dominance at the breakdown and tireless effort to win possession laid the platform for success.

Champions at last - a complete team performance, built on resilience, teamwork, and moments of individual brilliance, saw Trafford MV U13s deservedly crowned Lancashire Champions.
