Walking Rugby is now back being played on the fields of Trafford MV's own MacPherson Park M33 6LR.
New players aged over 50 years are always welcome to join our sessions - which are free of charge - sessions are open to both male and female players and anyone interested in picking up a rugby ball.
Experience is not essential just a willingness to get a bit more active and have a bit more fun in your week !
Usual Format
Join us every Wednesday at 6.30pm for an hour of fun, fitness, and friendly competition with Walking Rugby – a non-contact, low-impact version of the game that’s perfect for anyone aged 50 years and over!
Whether you’re a rugby veteran or totally new to the sport, Walking Rugby is designed for all ages and abilities. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy the game without the tackles and scrums.
Time: Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm
Where: Trafford MV Rugby Club, Finny Bank Road, MacPherson Park, Sale, M33 6LR
What to expect: Skills, gentle fitness, game play – followed by a pint and a chat in the bar!

Walking Rugby for Over 50's and people new to the sport is a great way to start getting your activity levels up in 2025.
Sessions are on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm - meet outside the Clubhouse at 6.15pm (Trafford MV RFCC - M33 6LR)
It is minimal contact, played at the players own pace, includes good catching and passing skills and adds competition to your walking exercise.
Sessions last for an hour and they are outdoors on grass so open to the elements and as such require studded/well gripped footwear and clothing to suit weather conditions.
There is a good social side to the group too as we stay behind for a social drink and chat and take on occasional meals/outings.
