Trafford MV 2nd XV enjoyed a glorious days rugby in the Sun and put in enough effort and enterprise to take the win 28 - 21 against a good Glossop 2nd XV. Keeping the pressure on
Eccles for 2nd place in the promotion challenge.

From kick off it could be seen what the Glossop game plan was, to use their forwards to drive through, their early try showed the reward. Shortly after Trafford showed their ambition, building great structure from the pack, giving perfect space for the backs, resulting in a lovely try for Jamie Parker. The match was a proper contest, a battle from start to finish, and outside of the occasional slipped tackle, the Trafford defence was incredible once again. A wonderfully finished definite try from Laurence Ryan on the wing put us in front and deservedly so. Glossop kept themselves in the mix scoring again and at half time the teams changed ends at 14-21.

Trafford continued to play expansive rugby in the second half showing control of play and dominant play across the park. Players were running good lines and looking dangerous which led to  scrum half Jacob Grant scoring a brilliantly worked try with 10 minutes left and the match now at  21-21. Trafford were throwing everything at Glossop who were staunch in their defence.
With 8 minutes left, up stepped Jimmy Craven, nothing was stopping him going over the line. Converted by Luke O'Shea to lead 28-21.

The final minutes saw TMV play smart rugby keeping possession and the clock ticking until the final whistle went. Outside of maybe executing better in the final third this was a solid performance from the 2nd XV and was under pinned by hard graft across the team.

A special mention for the junior colts U17's who have put the TMV shirt on over the last couple of weeks, they have stepped up seamlessly and earned their status as senior rugby players. Another proud day for these young players in front of home support.

Luke O'Shea playing at Fly Half collected the Player Of The Match award.
