Charlie Quigley would soon begin to dominate the lineout taking multiple against the head reducing EM to running many penalties however for the most part MV stayed strong with fantastic tackling from James McCumesky , Dale Beardsall and the full back line , pressure eventually told however with EM scoring in the corner. MV were not to be pegged back with Adam Mason getting on the end of a kick, showing off his football skills to round the fullback and score to level the scores. East Manchester would not relent however using their strong runners the continued to pressure MV and would again capitalise on handling errors to score following a clever lineout move taking the scores to 5-10 at half time.

 

MV continued to apply pressure in the second half with EM now down to 13 due to injury , a quick penalty and some interplay between James Knighton and Jordan Hughes led to Liam Brimble scoring MVs second, just about retaining his head from the tackle in the process. Trafford MV continued to increase the pressure and probably should have scored more before Adam Mason scored his second well worked try. It was at this point chaos would ensue , a breakaway EM try to take the game to 17-15 resulting in an away player seeing red, the referee not willing to continue the game allowed the conversion to be taken in front of the posts as a last action. Thankfully the resulting kick was finished closer to the clubhouse than between the sticks and MV would run out bizarre but deserved winners.
