Trafford MV 1st XV enter round 2 of the Counties 1 ADM Lancashire and Cheshire League with a short journey across South Manchester to face Didsbury Toc H at Simon Field, Ford Lane, Didsbury, Manchester M20 2T. Trafford go into the game on the back of an impressive win over Liverpool St Helens last weekend 48-22. Didsbury on the other hand came 2nd in a very close fought game at West Park (St Helens) 26-22.
Trafford go into the game with a few changes to last week but on the back of a good week in training and confidence is high. The front row see's Phil Simms come in at hooker between the experienced Paul Davenport and Jack Gobbert. Andrew Clegg and Kieran Edgar combine as an established 2nd row pairing. The back row has a very effective look about it with Sam Wilson on the blindside, Micah Dyos taking the openside and Chris Ward stabilising the pack at No 8.
In the back line Pat Eccles captains the side from scrum half linking up with Luke O'Shea leading the play from stand off half. There is a pairing of brothers in the centre with Lewis Kingdon entering the fray along side Jamie Kingdon. Outside of the centres on the wings are Jordan Rigg and Joe Owen, completing the back three combination is Jamie Parker at full back.
On the bench itching to get on the park will be James Webster, Andrew Beales and Ollie Jones.
We hope to see some support over in Didsbury with it being one of the closest away games of the season just a 20 min drive away.
The 3rd XV also have a short journey to make as they take on Sale FC at the Carrington training centre.
There is no 2nd XV fixture this weekend.
