With the cricket season nearing an end, just two Saturdays left and no more Sunday cricket in the fixture list, we have some decent weather on the horizon although a little cooler for the players in the field.
This Saturday the 1st XI make the journey to Aston CC for a 12.30pm start. They will be looking to continue for last week when TRAFFORD METROVICKS CC WON BY 41 RUNS against Malpas at MacPherson Park. With a couple of good results recently the 1st XI have crept out of the relegation zone but are not yet out of the battle they still need good results in these last two games to ensure their safety.
The 2nd XI take home berth this Saturday as they welcome Lindow CC 3rd XI to MacPherson Park for a 1.00pm start. The 2nd XI are in the promotion race and need to recover from last weekend when STOCKPORT TRINITY CC WON BY 5 WICKETS. Things are tight between the top 4 teams and there is everything to play for the the leading position with a grasp.
The 3rd XI finished their season last weekend as rain got the better of the Sunday games. They finished the season in a good 5th position in the league with Ashley 4th XI winning the league and Didsbury 4th XI in second place. Ashton On Mersey 3rd XI propped up the league.
Our 4th XI finished the season as Champions of the 3rd XI Division 2 - 2024 in the Cheshire County Cricket League well done to all the players during the season. Runners up were Didsbury CC 5th XI and at the foot of the league this season was Timperley CC 6th XI.
