Trafford MV RFCC join the rest of the Rugby world in offering condolences to the family and friends of Rob Burrow.

This is an occasion that is felt in both codes of Rugby - League and Union - as well as in all the families battling the threat that is MND.

The Rugby league legend Rob Burrow, 41, died on Sunday after battling motor neurone disease (MND) since 2019.

The Leeds Rhinos player was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in 2019, just two years after his retirement.

He dedicated the last few years to fundraising to help others with the condition alongside great friend Kevin Sinfield.

On Monday, members of Burrow's family oversaw the start of construction on an MND care centre named after him.

Burrow's diagnosis came two years after he retired from playing, with his 17-year career with Leeds Rhinos and Great Britain including eight Super League Grand Final wins, three World Club Challenges and two Challenge Cups.

Burrow and Lindsey, who married in 2006, have three children - Jackson, Maya and Macy.

During his fight against MND a firm friendship was also made with former Scottish Rugby Union international Doddie Weir who also passed away with the illness in Nov 2022 aged 52.
