Pre-season training is well under way at Trafford MV with only a couple of weeks to go until the first pre-season friendly against Burnage on Saturday August 17th. Over 30 players have attended each seassion since pre-season training started - well done boys.
Trafford will be looking to field 2 sides against Burnage and will be looking to the return of some absent faces prior to then. Attendance at training has been good with a big emphasis on youth as the Club looks to integrate players coming new onto the senior scene over the next couple of seasons into the non contact training regimes.
The telephone from coach Brian Collier has been red hot as he chases players away on holiday, etc to ensure their return to training is communicated and committed.
New players are invited to join Trafford MV ahead of the start of the 2024/25 season which begins in earnest with a Lancashire Trophy game at home against Warrington on Sat August 31st - it will be interesting to see the team coach Collier selects as a prelude to the League season kicking off the following Saturday.
The League season for newly promoted Trafford MV 1st XV opens with a home game against Liverpool St Helens and the team must be up for and prepared for much tougher games at this higher level of rugby. Each weekend will see a tougher contest for the players and the squad depth will be tested as the weeks go on and new players come into, and exit the selection process. Attendance at training will be the key factor in the process !

Players with ambition are sought for the 1st and 2nd XV's but we also have a place for social players and those unable to commit to every week within our 3rd XV.
Training is every Tuesday and Thursday for those wanting to commit - we also have touch rugby sessions on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings for those just wishing to dip their toes and see what we are like or just to get running with ball in hand.
