A weekend of mixed results over the Bank Holiday as Trafford MV take a step nearer to the close of the season.
On Saturday the 1st XI travelled to top of the table Westminster Park with hope more than expectation of bringing points home - the result met expectations ! Trafford MV won the toss and elected to bat and were bowled out for 71 runs in 30 overs. The home side rattled the runs off in 11.3 overs and reached 72 for 2 wickets. RESULT - WESTMINSTER PARK CC WON BY 8 WICKETS
The 2nd XI fared much better as they hosted Europa Exiles at MacPherson Park. The Exiles reached 90 for 8 from their 40 overs and it took Trafford MV just 16.4 overs to reach 93 for 0 wickets. The result brings them level with Marple CC at the top of the division. RESULT - TRAFFORD METROVICS CC WON BY 10 WICKETS
On Sunday the 3rd XI hosted Hyde CC and were all out for 113 in 32 overs while the visitors reached 116 for 5 wickets in just 19.5 overs. RESULT - HYDE CC WON BY 5 WICKETS
The 4th XI made the trip to Elworth CC and came home with a nice win. Elworth made 130 all out in 39.1 overs while Trafford MV got the required 131 runs for 6 wickets in 32.4 overs. TRAFFORD METROVICS CC WON BY 4 WICKETS
This Saturday we have the 1st XI playing at home against Knutsford - we also have 2 Rugby Matches at 1.00pm and 3.00pm
There is a Family Fun Day supporting the opening rugby match in memory of Dave Hughes and Maggies House is the Charity partner on the day.
The second match is the 1st XV vs Warrington in the opening round of the Lancashire Trophy.
We will also be showing the Springboks vs All Blacks in the Clubhouse at 4.00pm - the Clubhouse will be busy so please come early to make the most of the afternoon.
Beer Festival tickets will be available to purchase from the Bar for £5 cash - event is 27/28th September
