Big game rugby comes to MacPherson Park this Saturday kicking off at 2.15pm as 3rd placed Sefton come to compete for Trafford's title ambitions. TMV got back into winning ways at Fleetwood last weekend following a poor start to 2024 with consecutive defeats at the hands of De La Salle and Southport. Now is the time for Trafford MV to make their aspirations clear in front of their home support !

Trafford MV have had to ring the changes as injury and unavailability has had an impact on this weekends selection.

In the front row Joe Walls starts the game following his appearance off the bench last weekend, joining Nathan Bailey at prop either side of Craig Collier.

Into the 2nd row comes Tyler Stevens to lock up with the evergreen Andrew Clegg adding pace to stability.

The back row once again has skipper Danny Burke missing due to a knee injury, Micah Dyos drops back from the 2nd row to link up with Lewis Kingdon. Kieran Edgar holds the number 8 berth.

In the half backs Pat Eccles takes over the captaincy while Callum Yates moves from centre to his favoured position of stand off. Regular 10 Luke O'Shea is rested after picking up a knock.

Try scoring Jamie Kingdon holds his position in the centre an in comes big tackling Joe Owen as the back line is reshuffled.

Out wide on the flanks both Leon Passley and Jordan Rigg maintain their selection and they are joined in the back three by Eanna Glynn returning from injury.

The finishers bench will be kept warm by front row replacement Jack Gobbett, utility forward/back Chris Ward and back cover Tom Astbury making his 1st XV debut selection.

Trafford MV are now in a position where they can test and stand by their squad depth bringing in cover across the park.

The pitch at MacPherson Park is in remarkably good condition for this time of year and the strong wind and warmth over the last few days will have dried it out nicely. Good decision making and the clinical execution of set plays will be the game maker this Saturday and like any good team successful results are built on a rugged and powerful defensive performances.

We call on local Rugby supporters to get behind the team on the day - kick off 2.15pm. Bar open for pre match refreshments 1.00pm.

Good Luck to all the players.
