Eccles RFC
Trafford MV RFCC
Trafford MV 2nd XV made the short journey to Eccles on Saturday in a quarter final of the NOWIRUL Primo Drinks Bowl competition. Both sides competed well in an effort to progress to the next round and in the end just 2 points separated the sides at the final whistle.

In bright but breezy conditions at Eccles it was the home side that opened the scoring with Lucas Reeveley crossing the line. Trafford were quick to respond with the pace of Jordan Rigg on the wing making the difference to level scores at 5-5. Eccles got back in front after 20mins when James Molyneux earned a try which Nathan Newlove converted. The game was nip and tuck as was made evident when Trafford again brought the sides level with James Halsall crashing over following good forward pressure. Luke O'Shea converted to level at 12-12.

Neither side were visibly opening a gap and once again the home side nudged ahead when John Holland worked his way over 17-12. Trafford upped their efforts and the second half saw just one more score in the game as Trafford took the initiative and the game with a try out wide as winger Laurence Ryan outflanked the defence to level the scores once again. It was then down to the boot of Luke O'Shea who launched a long distance effort the sailed between the up rights to give Trafford MV the honours on the day 17-19.
Jimmy Craven was the Player of the Match for Trafford MV following a good hard working game with ball in hand as well as strong in defence.

The other quarter finals saw Clitheroe 2s lose to Wigan 2s 6-77, Warrington 2 got a Home Walk Over vs Glossop 2s, and Bolton 2s lost to Fylde 4s 21-30.
