Trafford MV 3rds took on a strong, experienced Littleborough team on Saturday in horrible wet and windy conditions. Trafford had youngsters Jacob Hamey and Charlie Wood making their senior debuts and South African Wayne Scanlon also playing his first game for the Club. Nathan Mushod returned to playing after a long injury lay off.
Trafford started well and were the better side for the first 20 minutes however the strength of the opposition plus the effect of 2 yellows for MV counted in Littleborough's favour. As the game played on the visitors gradually drew away and in the end deserved their 5 - 36 win.
Traffords only score came from on loan hooker Martin Holahan and Jacob Hamey collected the Player of the Match award for TMV. Mushod , Scanlon and Quigley played well for Trafford.
The soddened supporters from both clubs deserve a mention as they withstood the elements for the duration of the game. They welcomed the prospect of hot mulled wine and warming food as they retired into the clubhouse following the final whistle.
The result see's Littleborough climb to 7th position while Trafford MV are now 9th just ahead of Sale FC and Carrington.
The Clubhouse will be open at Trafford MV for the final game of the Autumn Internationals and any local residents or fans of rugby are invited to come down and watch the game with us. Ireland vs Australia kicking off at 3.10pm
