After a week of yet more rain Trafford welcomed Blackburn 3rd XV to a very wet and heavy pitch - but at least the game was on.
Both teams were glad to be on the park and Trafford were hoping they would be able to get the better of their mid table placed opponents but Blackburn were to be no pushover.
Tries came from across the team for Trafford as Fraser McAully , Joe Best and Jamie Parker scored tries unfortunately the conditions did not suit goal kickers on the day and none were converted.
Player of the match for Trafford MV was young Andrew Beales who keeps putting in good performances and pushing for his taste of 1st XV rugby.
The result leaves the 2nd XV in 3rd position just 5 points behind Littleborough who are level on points with leaders Aspull Development XV both on 63pts but Aspull lead on points scored differential.
Trafford are therefore pushing for a strong finish to the season looking to catch up on the leaders or for them to make a slip up.
This weekend the Trafford MV 2nd XV have just this opportunity as league leaders Aspull visit MacPherson Park for a 2.15pm kick off.
Availability and selection are crucial to a good team being put out on the day so the big call up is out there to all 2nd XV potential players to get their Saturday free to play Rugby !
